Turrets shooting from old location on dedicated server

Nico shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

Hello, there is an issue dedicated servers have - LargeMissileTurrets seem to shoot from an old location which doesnt change when you move if you use the "Shoot Once" option. This also affects modded turrets that use this group.

eG: You load your ship - use "Shoot once", fly 100m and use it again and you'll see that they shoot from the location where you loaded your ship from.

The issue only appears on dedicated servers.

Hello, Engineer!

Thank you for your report. Could you please provide us a save of your server where you are experiencing this issue? Do you use any mods on your server?

Any additional information will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, this happens on a freshly downloaded&started version of the server (steam). it does happen with mods on a different server aswell, though. The max. upload size is limited to 2MB though, so i can only give you the config. i hope that works aswell.

Here is a video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqovUO3ZyP0&feature=youtu.be

Thanks for the help :)

Hello,

Thank you for your reply, if you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thank you!

I have the same problem with a small block ship, it shoots from a previous location, I fix it by rotating several times until aiming well.

It happens to me when playing in a friend's world and on a dedicated server.

Hello,

Thank you very much for the information and video. I have not been able to reproduce this with multiple tries. Carlos, is it at all possible you could also provide your save to help me try to reproduce this issue?

Kind regards

ok, I'll try to save it right at the moment it happens to me.

Just to make sure - did you try to reproduce it on a dedicated server? because it does work fine in hosted worlds & singleplayer

This is an especially big issue for the server im working with because our pvp balance revolves around manually using shoot_once on certain turrets which are also affected by this bug because they are based on the vanilla missile turrets.

Here is the world saved, I am inside the cabin, my friend does not have the problems and is the server.

This is a video example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FA7WTuxAhM

The first part shows the problem and the second part is from my friend's PC and it works fine, when we created a dedicated server the problem spread to both.

Another problem in this world is that the station weapons get stuck shooting at a target that they have already destroyed using all the ammunition, you have to turn them off and on to fix it.

Hello Carlos!

Thank you very much for the save and video. I haven't been able to reproduce this issue but I see that your save has 6 mods in it. Would it be possible to retest your save without them and see if you still have the issue? I have not been able to repproduce it without the mods and wonder if this is causing your issue at all?

I just created the completely empty world without any mods or ships and it still happens.

Could it be a connection problem? although we are on a local network

The world is so small that I can attach here.

Hello again Carlos!

Thank you for this save, I just can't seem to get it to do it. The turret is shooting from the location without an issue. It seems strange that you're managing to have it happen in a completely new world! You're not the only one to experience it as Nico reported first, it's just that I can't seem to reproduce it. Are you finding that this happens with every world you create?

Hello Engineer!

I appreciate this thread is quite old. Is this still an issue that persists or has it since been resolved? If it is resolved, I will close the thread :)

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
