Crash-to-desktop using pistons.

Pyrald Lystent shared this bug 4 years ago
Won't Fix

A powered piston with "NaN" typed into its velocity field will crash the game to desktop in an instant.

To reproduce:

-Place a piton with a battery attached.

-Open the piston's control panel.

-Ctrl+left click the piston's velocity slider.

-Type "NaN" into the field and hit 'ok'.

I recommend this gets fixed as this method can be used by a griefer as an easy way to repeatedly crash servers. This crashes the server as well as the client.

Hello, Engineer!

I checked just now, still an issue.

Edit: on another note, there is a flaw in using voting to find the more serious bugs, as people with more followers can use their followers to make their bug reports more popular than bug reports that might actually be more serious, not that this is a serious bug or not.

Build a ship with a cockpit. All works fine. Place piston and put cockpit to it, all cockpits are kind of disabled (can't control ship anymore). Recently testing it again game also crashed (froze permanently).

This is a thoroughly unrelated issue.
