LCD image "Change Interval" permanently stops working

Lukas D shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

I've had this happen in multiple worlds - the image interval function randomly stops working and there's nothing I can do to fix it. Even with all mods removed it just won't come back.

Changing the interval setting makes it change image ONCE. So does cutting and pasting the grid. But it won't start actually working again.

Going back to an earlier Backup save, if you have happen to one from before the bug appeared, will get around it (until you encounter it again). But if you don't have a clean backup it will simply never work in that world ever again.

Hello,

Could you please provide us with more information regarding the issue you reported? I wasn't able to reproduce it.

Would it be possible for you to reproduce it in a clean non modded world and send us saves of the world before the bug appears and after the bug appears? Also some specific steps to reproduce would help as well.

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Kind Regards

Well I have no idea what causes it, and unless I happen to be watching the LCDs at the time there's no way to know when it has occured. And by the time I do notice it the backup saves are already overwritten. I think it happens during load - as in I load into a world and suddenly they're not changing any more, even when I know for certain they were working when I logged off.

I can give you a list of mods that have been installed on both worlds that have the bug:

SEMaxSpeed

VSI Emissive Controls

VSI Recolorable Thrusters

Scratch Be Gone

Edge Be Gone

Adjustable Thruster Multipliers

and some local LCD image mods (just some added LCD images made by myself)

Hello,

We will keep looking into this issue. However, unless it can be reproduced on a clean, un-modded server, it is usually caused by a certain mod or by combination of mods which we have no control over. In this case would really help a world or some reliable steps to reproduce.

In the meanwhile I would recommend to try to reinstall SE and also remove/backup SpaceEngineers folder in /appdata/roaming to see if there isn't something wrong with gamefiles (you can just rename the folder and Se will create a new one upon next start up).

We will share more information regarding any progress made on this issue with you once we have had time to examine it further.

Keen Support,

I will second Lucas D. as I run a server with no mods at all and myself and the other players are experiencing the same issue. I am unsure of which save file(s) you may however, please let me know how I can help because this is frustrating. Additionally, is there any way to import clean images onto an LCD that do not look so pixelated? Thank you for your support.

Hello, Lukas and Freedom_Phoenix!

I did try to test your issue once more but all possibilities that come to my mind didn´t lead to anything new. So far I did not manage to reproduce your issue.

Is it still happening to you? And if so, do you have any new information that you car share?

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
