[1.193.022 default] Space Engineers doesn't recognize Steam Controller inputs

I can enable controller map with the Steam Controller recognized as "Xbox 360 Controller (For Windows)", with the Gamepad template profile (stock controller experience), but when I try to use it in any way, it's like there's no controller plugged in. My Xbox One Controller with the wireless adapter works flawlessly, though. Is Space Engineers not capable of utilizing controllers connected via Bluetooth, or something? I'd really rather use my preferred controller, rather than one I now find uncomfortable.

I fixed this problem for me by performing Alt-TAB in-game and performing Controller Configuration in upper-right of Steam overlay. I used a community preset.

Yeah, I did that, too, but it still wouldn't recognize any of the inputs. Shift-Tab, btw; Alt-Tab is the Windows Application Switcher.

Sorry, meant Shift-Tab.

I'm having a similar issue with my Xbox Elite Controller in 1.93.103, both with the USB cable and wireless dongle. It can be selected in settings, but input has no effect in the game.

Controller used to work in the game, but unfortunately there's no previous versions available at the moment, so I can't revert and tell you at what version. Saved a custom gamepad configuration in Steam on the 3rd of August last year, so assume it stopped working somewhere between then and now.

From what I can tell, disabling steam input for this game will resolve the issue for xbox controllers, but doing so renders a steam controller useless....

For those of us with steam controllers, does "considered" mean you will consider adding support for them?

Not sure if anyone found a fix for this.

Using Xbox One controller wirelessly with the official Xbox USB dongle directly on PC with this game works fine, in settings under controller, I can select Xbox One [For Windows]. Works absolutely fine.

If I use Steam Link via iPad, iPhone or Apple TV, with the same Xbox One controller it doesn’t work in game (works fine in Steam Link when navigating in big picture. When I do go in game to check the controller option it indicates Xbox 360. [For Windows]. When I select this, the controller doesn’t operate and the cursor slowly moved up screen by itself.
