Power Key Y turns off all grids attached via landing gear

Daniel Adam shared this bug 4 years ago
Solved

Locking a ship into another grid via landing gears (attention: NOT Connectors) and the pressing Y to turn off the vessel makes ALL attached grids shut down.

Happens since the update on June 7th, tested on my ded.server with small and large grids, ships and stations.

I know that this behaviour is normal when using connectors but it should NOT happen with landing gears.

@KSH: Please look into this matter asap, this just kills the whole game when you no longer can land anything.

Fortunately for me, I've always had my reactors hotkeyed ever since realizing that being connected via connectors and pressing Y will shut down the other grid. This was completely unexpected though. Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem post-update!

This is not ok. I remember that before even ships docked with Connectors didn't turned the station or other ships power off.

i might be mistaken but afaik with connectors it always was that way. My report is ONLY for landing gear thingy.

If Keen is hell-bent on keeping "Y" to affect grids through Connectors can we just remove the function all together? While you're at it can you kill "P" as well? These two buttons have caused so many problems, whether accidentally pressed or not.

Or...or you could make it so that those 2 keys only do the respective function only to the mechanical grid (so it can go through rotors/merge blocks but not connectors and landing gear.

This is a bug report for something that is supposed to work but doesn't.

You may open a feedback or suggestion discussion seperately please.
