Piston Stack causes game breaking behavior

We have been experiencing an issue with pistons on our dedicated server. At first we thought it was a bad mod interaction but we are experiencing it in a vanilla world now too. Issue seems to occur when a piston stack attached to a static grid embedded in voxels interacts with something. Any vehicle on the static grid will start floating away and/or have landing gear and pistons explode randomly. Vehicles do not need to be attached to the static grid by any method, they are simply resting on it. Any grid with pistons not on or attached to the static grid also experience the same issue no matter the distance. When a player tries to walk on the static grid movement is slowed, its as if walking through molasses. Walking on voxels is fine, jetpack movement is fine as well. Removing all pistons and having all players leave the server seems to resolve the issue but I am unsure.

The issue returned sans pistons, came with a heavy sim speed drop this time, down to 0.07. Save file is attached, no idea on the root cause now. Attempting to get clips from players.

This is also happening in my dedicated server, but it's affecting all the grids on the server. Everything start floating away, wheels broke from suspensions, clang strikes everywhere...

As a workaround we've limited the piston to just 2 and put a rule to not stack them.

Attached is a clip from another player, I will add a video form my perspective as well once available. I did a cleanup of the world, only gird is a small hydrogen craft, and the base. All pistons and rotors were removed after this.

Same here.

It may be just a coincidence, but I've noticed that this always happens when a specific person logs on to the dedicated server on which I play.

I play in two dedicated servers, both had the same problem and one of them had to do a general wipe because of this bug.

Issue returned as soon as we restarted the server for the 189.042 hotfix. There hasn't been any and there is currently no pistons or rotors in the world. I am unsure what is causing this. Grids locked down with landing gear are unaffected, this appears to be effecting all free floating grids

Same happened in my server, right after restart for 189.042 update. In my case, we had a player that builded a stacked piston in his base. After deleting this, server seems stable but i'm also not 100% sure if it's really the cause of the physics problem. I'll completely block piston building in the server for now and see if the problem stops.

Have you been running mods at any point? I'm trying to figure out if it could be something leftover or not.

Take a close look at this

Performance generally isn't the issue, out of the several times this has occurred there has only been one instance where sim speed dropped drastically. Server performance has been fine otherwise. As an update we have disabled wolves and spiders and have not seen the issue since, although im not sure if they are the cause.

After completely blocking the building of Pistons in my server, these issue never happened again. For me it's 100% linked to the piston stacking

I just wanted to leave what I hope is the last update. Issue has not occurred for a week after disabling wolves/spiders. Reintroduced mods and have been using pistons quite liberally the last four days and things are still fine.
