AI Offensive block issue with pre-existing enemies

Hi, I'm having trouble with the AI Offensive block reliably triggering actions upon detecting an enemy grid. I'm trying to print missiles. The goal is usually to print these, but researching the topic I have read that some say printing/merge/unmerge etc are suspected to cause issues so I'm avoiding that for now. In troubleshooting I'm just pasting them and in my testing noticed that if there is an existing enemy grid already in range, the missile will detect it (shows in the UI) but not trigger any actions. If I then cut and repaste that enemy grid as if it's a newly appearing enemy it will take action. If I paste in the enemy after the missile exists, it will take action. If I paste the missile while an enemy grid exists, and then add a second enemy grid, it will still not trigger actions until I cut out the first grid, and then it will launch and target the second grid. I'm not using any mods, just a vanilla local creative world to learn in. This has caused me hours of frustration trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if the AI block is just buggy. I now have repeated the above a bunch of times and the issue just seems to be related to enemies that exist before the missile exists.

This completely ruins the missile idea as printing/welding is usually the goal and so if an enemy is near you'd want to print, making that enemy pre-existing, breaking the missiles that are printed.

I put this back in my printer setup (after writing the above) assuming the issue is the same whether pasting or printing (but wanted to be sure), because I was testing with my printer for days and having similar issues. But at least in this test it was just different. I printed 9 missiles, they were fueled up and ready. Then I pasted in an enemy grid. They are all set to 5s enemy detection. It took a while (longer than 5s), but then eventually 1 missile launched and took out most of the small target. Then I think 7 more launched all at once flying close together going to the target remains. Then one more came late and hit the ground. And the last one just flew off 3 miles or more down range and slowly collided with the ground (there was nothing left to target).

But then I tested it again. Pasted in an enemy grid. Printed 9 missiles. Waited over a minute. They all detected the enemy grid but the actions were not carried out. I cut the enemy grid and re-pasted it, and all missiles launched within a couple seconds.

Then as a third test, I printed the missiles, went 5km away, pasted the enemy grid in and flew it back in range. All missiles launched and took me out. So the grid coming in range makes it a new target and triggers correctly.

Fourth test. I pasted in a large grid 5km away that can defend itself. I flew with the printer left on. The first set of missiles launched and got shot down. The printer made new ones, but none of them launched. The AI Offensive block has the large grid targeted but actions aren't triggered.

So, very inconsistent and unreliable. Hope you can help or pass it on to be fixed.
