Small Grid Event Controller

I was trying to have my airlock doors open and close automatically when I park my ship on a small inset connector. The small grid ship has an event controller to do this. The event controller(when targeting a connector) has two event slots. One is for "When Disconnected" the other is for "When connected". I have it set to open the door "When disconnected" and that is working as intended. I have it set to Close door "When connected". That one is not working as intended. I think that when you assign "Close door" to the slot, the game is actually trying to set the door state to open.

do you have 'AND gate' ticked on? if not, it may not function as intended. Scroll down to the bottom of the event controller menu and tick that box, it should work as you describe!
