Saved game mod load order list completely inverted = save load error

Won't Fix

Hello,

To sum up (not first time happening):

- I started a modded game with a lot of time puting the mod load list in correct order (not real easy: lot of clicks to move mods up/down, + search only work on not already added mods)

- Played some hours, it's been a month: no problem

- Yesterday: i saved before quiting space engineer

- Today: i tried to load the last save, and it display an "error while loading to world"

After checking, it appears that the mod list order have been completely inverted: fist is now last and last is first, generating world loading error.

Is there a way to put it back in the correct order easily ?

So as i made a separate save as a "start" configuration (at begining).

I took sandbox + sandbox config from the "start" save et copied on the corrupted one.

Loaded the game and saved under a new name, then deleted the corrupted.

It worked.

Hello Grog,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum. We’re glad to know you have solved the issue.

Based on what you described, the inverted MOD order was not the actual cause but rather a symptom of a corrupted save configuration file. This type of corruption can happen when the game is closed before the saving process fully completes, when there is a temporary interruption during file writing caused by Windows, antivirus software, OneDrive, or Steam Cloud, or when the game crashes at the moment the world is saving.

It can also occur if a MOD crashes the game during a save, which may damage the Sandbox.sbc or Sandbox_config.sbc files, or if there are system or disk delays that result in only part of the file being written.

Your method of restoring the Sandbox and Sandbox_config files from a previous backup confirms that the core world data was intact and that only the configuration files were affected.

We will keep this thread open to make sure the fix remains stable and to see whether the issue appears again.

Kind Regards,
