Hello Gabriel,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

The issue you’re experiencing is most likely caused by the Microsoft .NET Framework (a Windows component required for Space Engineers to run) being out of date, corrupted, or not properly installed on your system.

Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

Update Windows Completely

  1. Press Start → click Settings
  2. Go to Update & SecurityWindows Update
  3. Click Check for updates and install all available updates
  4. Make sure to also install Optional updates (these often include .NET and driver fixes)
  5. Once all updates are installed, restart your PC

Repair or Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework

After your PC restarts, please verify that the .NET Framework installation is healthy.

Option A – Repair automatically:

  1. Download Microsoft’s official .NET Framework Repair Tool:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135
  2. Run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions, it will detect and fix common issues automatically
  3. When it finishes, restart your PC again

Option B – Reinstall manually (if repair didn’t help):

  1. Go to Microsoft’s official .NET Framework download page:
    https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework
  2. Download and install the latest runtime (for example .NET Framework 4.8)
  3. Reboot your PC after installation

Once all steps above are complete, please launch the game again from Steam.

If the issue persists, please send us a screenshot of the exact error message. And the log file from the session when the issue occurred. The log file name starts as, SpaceEngineers_

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards,
