Need More Information

All turrets did not fire against pirates as normal, two big ships lost, 6 months of building gone.

I had two independent ships, both had ammo, turrets etc, been fighting off pirates for months.

Suddenly pirates attack and both ships would not shoot back.

Turrets set to shoot neutrals and enemies etc. Plenty of ammo.

No reason for one ship not to respond, let known both ships impossible.

Lost everything, two ships 6 months plus of building etc.

Can you help please ?

Hello Murray,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum, and please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed response to this thread.

Unfortunately, if the grids or ships have already been destroyed, it isn’t possible to recover them unless you have a backup of your world or server save files. Restoring a previous backup can bring the save back to the point where your grids were still intact, allowing you to make a blueprint of them for future use. It’s always a good practice to create blueprints of your important grids and ships, so you can easily rebuild them in case of destruction or loss.

Regarding the turret issue, has it been resolved in the meantime, or is it still occurring?

If the issue persists, could you please let us know whether it is happening in a single-player world, a Lobby, or on a Dedicated Server?

Is the world/lobby or server modded (has active MODs) or any in-game Scripts active there? Since obsolete MODs or broken Scripts can sometimes interfere with the game’s core functionality and cause issues like the one you experienced.

If the world or server is unmodded, would it be possible for you to share the world/server save files with us where this issue occurred, so we can investigate it further? Please also send us a screen recording/video showing the issue and the steps needed to reproduce it on our side using the same world/server save file.

  • If you are the game host (single player/Lobby), you can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves. If the issue occurred on a Dedicated Server (DS), the DS save files can be found in your, Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated\Saves folder
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files or videos, you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards,
