controller not being recognized by game properly

hello im having trouble with my controller last night it worked today it doesnt the game thinks its an xbox 360 controller its an elite series 2 ive tried everything i can think of to fix it checked for updates on controller checked driver updates enabled steam input and disabled it and everything i could find online

1 I have the same bug

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for the details so far. To help us narrow this down, could you please check two things:

  1. Open Steam > Settings > Controller and confirm whether your controller shows up correctly there. Sometimes Steam changes the layout after updates.
  2. Let us know how you are connecting the controller — via Bluetooth, USB-C cable, or the wireless adapter. If you’re using wireless, please try a different USB port or switching to a wired connection to see if the game detects it properly.

This will help us understand whether Steam is detecting the controller correctly and whether the connection type might be affecting recognition in the game.
