Solved

Hello. My name is Dmitry. I'm running a dedicated server with your game on a separate computer. I've encountered a problem with block coloring. All players on the server can't apply their favorite skins to blocks. I couldn't find any checkboxes to enable coloring in the dedicated server settings. Could you please tell me what I can do to fix this? Everything works fine on other servers. I think I did something wrong. But what?

There are no plugins installed on the server.

Hello Dmitry,

Your ticket has not been closed but was moved to our support forum so we can better assist you with this issue.

To investigate further, could you please provide us with some additional details? For example, are there any MODs active on this server? If so, please try removing all MODs temporarily and check if the issue still occurs.

Also after removing MODs, does the issue happen only for a few particular players or for everyone on the server?

If the issue is widespread, we kindly ask you to send us a screen recording/video showing the issue on an unmodded server, along with the log files from the time it occurred. Please send us logs from both the server and the client side.

  • Clients can access their log files by typing %appdata% into their Windows search bar and they will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that, they just need to follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers. For your Dedicated Server log file, go to AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated folder.

Kind Regards,

There are no mods installed on the server. The problem started when the server launched, specifically five days ago. There were no periods when the coloring worked correctly.

The issue affects every server visitor.

But I don't understand which file is the log. Can you clarify what I should upload?

Hello Dmitry,

For the client (players who joined your server), the log file starts with SpaceEngineers_ and can be found in the AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder on their device, as mentioned in our previous response.

For your dedicated server, the log files start with SpaceEngineersDedicated_ and can be found on your device in the AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated folder, as mentioned earlier.

Along with the log files and a screen recording/video showing the issue, we kindly request that you also send us the dedicated server save file where the issue is occurring:

  • You can access your server save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar, which will redirect you to the hidden Roaming folder. From there, navigate to: Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated\Saves. There, find the folder with your server save name.
  • Please zip that folder and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files or recordings, you can alternatively use Google Drive. When sharing a Google Drive link, please ensure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards
