Ore Detector Mk 2 range
Not a Bug
The new Ore Detector Mk 2 doesn't show the correct range, only shows 50meters on a small grid when the originial one shows 150m's. No mods installed to affect the Detectors ranges (that I am aware of, might be within another mod).

Hello Marshall Garrett,
thank you for reaching our forum with this problem.
When tried on our end, there is no difference in the small vs small grid Ore Detector range, as well as for large vs large combination.
Both - Ore Detector and Ore Detector Type II - blocks for small grid have 50m range. And both - Ore Detector and Ore Detector Type II - blocks for large grid have 150m range.
Since you are mentioning different name of the block, can you please also check your game version? The current one is 1.207.021. Are you running the same? If not, please update your game.
Can you please try the same - build or paste any grid with these blocks - into freshly started vanilla (no mods) world and let me know if you are seeing the same values, or they still differ to you.
If you are still seeing any kind of problem in the vanilla world, please share us the affected save file with the blocks already in place so we can check on our side as well.
You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards

Good morning,
I verified the Version was 1.207.021, and i started a fresh no mod vanilla world and confirmed your information. both small grid Detectors show max range of 50m. I think one of the mods on my other save are effecting the range of the first Detector (not sure which as it must be hidden inside the mod).
Sorry for the confusion on this and thank you for the quick response!
Regards,
Marshall

Hello Marshall Garrett,
thank you for your reply.
We’re glad to hear that the issue does not occur in the vanilla game. That confirms everything is working as expected on the base version.
Since the problem only appears with mods active, please note that we do not provide direct support for mods.
It’s always a good practice to contact the author/creator of the mod and report the issue to them. It is their responsibility to make sure their mods remain compatible with the current version of the game.
Thank you again for checking this thoroughly and helping confirm it’s not a vanilla bug.
Kind regards,
Keen Software House
