Hinge copy/paste collision issue

It seems there is a collision inconsistency with the hinge block when it's copy/pasted onto an array of blocks – sometimes it’s possible to place (depending on how it is rotated), other times it is not possible at all, no matter the direction. It also seems to differ what type of block the hinge is pasted onto.

Although a hinge pasted onto a single block does seem to always be possible.

I am not from Keen.

How are you even doing that? In image 1 the hinge (turning) part is missing which matches every time I place a hinge base. Images 2-4 have the hinge part and I don't see that when I place a hinge base. .... unless you are actually trying to place a hinge (turning) part which you are not supposed to do easily.

Hi, image 1 shows a regular placement, where 2-4 shows a copy of an already placed hinge (placed in space - not shown) - so the copied hinge is actually a grid of two blocks. To copy/paste (Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V) I've enabled "Creative mode" from the Admin menu (Alt+F10), while playing in a single-player game.

Furthermore, the surface looked at while copying a grid is typically the preferred surface to be pasted onto another block. It also helps with the orientation having "Grid pivot" enabled from the Info menu (K),

Correction: "... - so the copied hinge is actually two grids with a total of two blocks. ..."
