Just so you know, a windmill requires two blocks beyond the block where it is placed to be free and open. So, it is a plane 5x5 and the one block thick. You should not be able to place anything else within that plane even if it looks like it should fit.

Is that not the problem?

befor the update you could put a roof right up next to it i can put a floor next to it now but not a roof

see the floor is fine but i cant do the roof with out it blowing up

Because I imagine the software engineers will wonder, are you talking about a roof on top of that structure? It looks like I can see a little bit of roof there. Otherwise, I for one can't tell where you mean the roof would go.

what im talking about is if i try to take the roof on up right where the windmill is the roof block blows up the roof block to the left and right of it is fine but the block right in front of it will blow up on ever side

yeah, it looks like you should be able to build up to that line under the wind blades. Speaking of things exploding, I had a barbarian at my gate yesterday. I killed him through the gate (because that's still possible) and having died while stuck in the gate, he exploded like a grenade and took out a good bit of the front of my fortress. lol You never now what physics hijinx the game will get up to.

ive had that happen to me to my gate closed on a barbarian and booooooooom lol
