flexible aspect ratio

With ultra wide gaming screens on the rise (and myself using 3 fhd ones) I would like to see other aspect ratios ... in fact making the game flexible would be nice.
Or in other words no matter how resize your window it always should use the resolution of that window ... like almost any other modern games does ...
I tried to resize the window ... and the results where rather poorly ... the size has gone up but not the resolution ...
I think that shouldn't be too hard to implement in the engine.
(I attached the ahk script I'm using to resize games)
