[0.7.1] Dropping items from inventory makes them dissapear

Hello,
I was playing in my single player survival world earlier, when I noticed I couldn't find my dropped items anymore.
It turns out that when you drag an item out of your inventory to drop it, the game doesn't put said item in the world, even though its gone from your inventory.

I have had similar, primarily with tools. I've now learnt to just not trust dropping stuff and use chests. :/
