Holding Down "F" Key not working

while playing I have lost the ability to pick up objects / interact by holding down the F key.
a re-start sometimes cures this problem, but after the last failure a system restart has not fixed this.

I have a feeling this occours when a claim block times outs but it affects the F key in all areas not just the area of the claim block.

This happens to me if I plop down an item too deep in the ground. I placed two chests, one on the ground, the other a little lower in the ground. I was able to grab the one chest but not the other.

same as Terry, but in my case it was a weapon rack that got embedded in a wooden wall.
