Bug Report: Space Engineers 2 crashes when using FSR anti-aliasing on AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT
Bug Report: Space Engineers 2 crashes when using FSR anti-aliasing on AMD Radeon RX 7800 XTSummary: Reproducible game freeze when FSR anti-aliasing is enabled.
System specifications
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT (16 GB VRAM)
- GPU driver: AMD Adrenalin 26.8.1
- CPU: Intel Core i5-10400F
- RAM: 32 GB
- Operating system: Windows 10
- Game version: 4.0.0.3151
Steps to reproduce
- Launch Space Engineers 2.
- Open the graphics settings.
- Set the anti-aliasing mode to FSR.
- Start a new world or load an existing world.
Actual resultThe game freezes during world loading. The problem occurs repeatedly when FSR is enabled.
Expected resultThe game should load and run normally with FSR enabled.
WorkaroundDisabling FSR anti-aliasing allows the game to start and load worlds successfully. The game is currently playable with FSR disabled.
I verified the game files through Steam, and Steam reported that all files were successfully verified. The issue also occurs with newly created worlds, so it does not appear to be specific to an existing save.
I would prefer not to roll back my AMD graphics driver because other games are working correctly with the current driver.
Please investigate whether this is a compatibility issue between FSR anti-aliasing, the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and the current game version.
I am providing this report in the hope that it helps the developers identify and fix the issue for other AMD Radeon users as well.
