Expanded options for configuring devices and blocks

Many problems could be solved by allowing players to rename devices as needed. This includes the ability to create ad-hoc groups of devices and name the group according to the player’s needs.

Many problems could be solved if device blocks and devices had the option to properly configure their properties and capabilities.

Similarly, it would be useful to allow warehouse blocks to be configured for material storage based on whitelists and blacklists.

Even more problems could be solved if it were possible to specify material flows in the block settings—which production or storage block receives materials from which production or storage block, and to which production or storage block it sends its output or stored materials.

Configuring storage blocks for specific types of materials could affect the capacity and other characteristics of the storage blocks.

For example, a dedicated block for storing ore or ingots would have an increased capacity of 25–50%, depending on the number of material types stored (simplified internal warehouse operations, optimization of storage space).

Similarly, a dedicated warehouse for storing ammunition would have reduced storage capacity but significantly increased resistance to explosions and fire.

Similarly, it would be useful to have the option to configure a refinery to process a single type of ore or produce a single type of ingot (including, of course, the byproducts of the base material) and to prohibit other refineries from processing that ore or producing that product.

Other configuration options:

Doors: virtual access cards based on the player’s identity, affiliation with a ship or station crew, faction affiliation, and relationship with the door’s “owner” (friendly, neutral, unwelcome, hostile)

- automatic door closure after a set time interval

Similarly, personal lockers and other personal storage facilities—access based on player identity and affiliation with a crew or faction. Option to set contents to self-destruct in case of unauthorized entry or damage to the locker.

Information panels and similar devices—content displayed based on the relationship with the “owner.” Friend/faction member—full content; neutral—basic content; enemy—“decoy content” or “decoy image”

A storage block filled with inert materials such as ore, stone, ice, or ingots could act as an armor block, depending on how full it is. This would remain true even after it is damaged, until it is completely destroyed.

It would be very useful to have the option to completely suspend the transport operations of conveyors, warehouses, and production facilities with the push of a button and allow only “manually controlled” material transfers.
