Hello,

My friends and I feel that locking the new modules behind mission rewards is not very fun. We feel that you should be able to go out and scan the modules/blocks to get the information on how to make them. It would require the player to build the scanner first, then go out and explore the worlds to find points of interest where you can scan these blocks and modules to build up your list. Doing missions can bring you to these points where the player can scan them, and you can lock some behind layers of complexity. For example, there is one mission where you need to grind down a ship and it has a reactor on it, but it's very early in the game and would not make sense to have yet. That reactor might not be scannable until you build an upgrade to the scanner. Then if the player remembers they can go back to it (if it wasn't destroyed for the mission) and scan it to get closer to unlocking it.

An example of a game that does this well is Subnotica.

This would engage survival players more in our opinions and make for a better game. Feel free to put your own spin on it, just don't leave it how it is. It works, but it's boring.

Thank you!
