piston velocity wrong???

Is it me, or are the Pistoin velocities wrong?
0.01 m/s should take 100 seconds to extend a meter, therefore 1500 seconds to extend 15 meters, that is 25 minutes. In game a piston takes around 1 minute 17 seconds.
Am I calculating this correctly???
