Bring grid parachutes to SE2

Parachutes are a good emergency backup for landing on planets when a vessels loaded weight has exceeded the engines thrust capability.

It is very easy to misjudge the descending height at which full thrust will not save your vessel from a surface impact destruction.

At this point reloading or starting again are the usual options, a parachute would add a chance for the vessel to survive.

Adding parachutes will make planet fall less of a potential total loss and allow player to learn the limits of payloads on their craft.

But it's fun, and it would allow a whole new range of vehicles and whatnot.

im sure most blocks like parachutes (hopefully with the addition of sails since we have wind) from se1 will eventually get added to the game. right now its just not "important" from a development standpoint to have them.

Players play and developers play too. If SE2 is to be friendly to noobs, give them the chance to make up for inexperience. Continuing to sell the alpha version of SE2 is important to its development. Loosing a ship to gravity is both fun and tragic. Loosing new players on an alpha version is tragic too. At present the flight control indicators are insufficient to indicate an imminent crash, there is no warning to suggest vessel overloading. Adding parachutes is an engineering solution.

Would like parachutes solely for their use in deploying cargo or staging a modern era rocket. +1

a rocket with not enough fuel to escape gravity, but needing the parachute to come back down. such a pointless but fun thing i could imagine doing myself.
