Unable to claim ships

Hi team, this game design for not allowing players to claim a ship or station has really been bothering me for a long time. I wondered if in the next update we could get this removed and allow players to claim and own ships / station they find around? its very annoying to get a ship only to find that we cannot do anything with it. I just get an Unauthorized action message.

Please turn this off so we can actually enjoy what we find!

safe to assume this is deliberate at this point in development and the addition of claiming grids will come eventually.

its frustrating when trying to grind down parts and the grid just decides its now junk and gets swept by the games aggressive clearing system as it stands now. another thing that im sure will be changed as the game develops more.

There are many ways to defuse the problem. One that I would like to see both in SE1 and SE2 is a grace period for new grids before deletion. SE1 already has it for unknown signals after you claimed the special content (two hours until they despawn). That could be extended to all newly created grids, and the time until deletion could become a setting for the game world.
