Classic Survival: Progression is completely softlocked by advanced component requirements

I wanted to give some feedback regarding the balance of the Classic Survival mode. Right now, the progression feels incredibly frustrating and almost unplayable because basic logistical and functional blocks are locked behind materials that you can't realistically get early on.

To build essential progression blocks like rotors, pistons, refineries, or assemblers, you need advanced components. However, the ores required to craft these components are locked behind deep tech or are sometimes located exclusively on other planets.

This creates a massive paradox in the gameplay loop:

  • You need the blocks to progress and leave the planet.
  • But you need to leave the planet and mine rare ores just to build the blocks.

For instance, trying to set up or power a basic ship is a nightmare when you're hit with constraints like needing hundreds of kilograms of silicon just for solar panels before you even have access to basic wind turbines.

survival mechanics need to feel deep and meaningful. Right now, locking essential infrastructure like pistons, rotors, and basic production machines behind off-planet or hard-to-reach ores doesn't make the game harder in a fun way—it just creates an artificial softlock that makes the early game completely unplayable.

Please consider tweaking the recipe requirements for these core mechanical blocks in Classic Survival so we can actually build up our initial infrastructure and engineering solutions locally before being forced into deep-space exploration.
