Linking Connectors creating innert secondary grids

Dunno if its a bug, won't report it as such because it seems to be more so of a missing feature or just me missing something.


Connectors between 2 ships or rather a platform and a ship cannot be used,

Modular designs suffer for this lack of capacity to act through connectors as 1 ship once they are connected together... For instance I am seeking to make a hydrogen "warp ring" For planetary insertion of Ion powered fighters. Upon the ring there is its own thrust, batteries cargo and drills, however, landing my ship on it and trying to drive the platform won't work because the boosters on the ring won't activate to avoid entering death loops or simply being too underpowered to move the new attatched mass even though it has its own propulsion.


Drills, guns, thrusters cannot be used through 2 linked connectors and its killing my designs :D


To anyone thinking to just put a seat on the ring... Yeah I thought of it too, cept one problem is that then the thrust of the ship won't activate to counter its presence and like I said earlier... it creates this annoying lift conbated by gyroscopes and the natural higher weight of the ring to the fighter so yes it works... But it only works if you manage center of mass and center of thrust which means to lose the ability to have the ring integrate with more then designated fighters which turns the whole point of an attatchable drill bit with its own thrust to weight ratio and cargo capacity rather moot as that point you're just doing 1 creation not a modular attatchment for any creations to use...
