Issue with bigger (large grid) mining ships

Hello fellow Engineers / DEV's

I finnaly got to test my loyal Big Bertha mining ship that i have been using for years in SE1.

Taking out my beasty first to an Iceteroid mining went well, cargo filling up, once i got full connection with all the drills, there seems to be a drilling proplem. drills still working, pushing forward, no mining is happening. So at first i thought, meh, maybe its because its a full Iceteroid. so i went to a nearby astroid and started drilling some iron... same issue applied (provided little vid in the file with the iron) mining itself stops untill i wiggle the ship a little to get a notch of Ore, than it stops again.

This was done with a mixed Drill setup (large and small drills)

I will return to base and swap to small drills, test it again, back to base, swap to large drills and re-test it, i'll update my following test reuslts in the upcoming comments as i had issues with the large grid drills before.

Test 2 Big Bertha with only small drills:

Worked perfectly and kept going, even with full drill connections.

Same as the issue described in the original post.

Personal thoughts:

I think it has to do with the hitbox of the large drills, they drill a bit, then the hitbox (like when you see the green/red box when placing the drills on on a grid) is interfering with the voxels and preventing from drilling deeper.

That would also explain the drill issue i've mentioned in my previous post, => https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers2/pc/topic/53565-game-report-april-10th-2026 <= about the large drill seemingly to often seems to bounce off the ore while drilling.

Yes, I've had the same problem, and came to the same conclusion. The hitbox is off.

I was using large drills slightly offset forward and backwards to get them closer together. Couldn't get a passthrough miner to work without wiggling.
