Large drill radius to small

I built a ship with a window that's 1 block wide. And placed to drills on opposite sides of it, but when I try to just override the thrusters and have it mine into an asteroid, it gets stuck since the radius can't cover the area of the windows.
This makes it hard to design mining ships with a window to look out the front. I think increasing the radius slightly should resolve this issue and help us create better builds for our mining ships.
