Compilation of bugs I observed in Space Engineers 2
The following text was originally written in German and automatically translated. Please excuse any translation errors.
1. The initial situation on the planet is relatively straightforward but has one weakness: Players familiar with Space Engineers 1 are tempted to start gathering resources right away. However, the game doesn't anticipate this. The locations that need to be visited, especially the ice cave at the end, are so high that the provided vehicle can only take off without any ballast, i.e., without any cargo. One is tempted to collect ice in the ice cave and load it into the vehicle, but at least in my experience, it's then no longer possible to take off at such an altitude (significantly above the warning threshold for this drive). The only workaround is to use the player character, not the vehicle. Since the area is intended to be a "tutorial," this should at least be mentioned, or the text should explicitly instruct players to fly there without the vehicle, i.e., only with the player character.
2. In the starting sector, there's a quest where you have to build an entire base from a blueprint. (The following bug has already been reported.) This base includes, among other things, an artificial gravity device, which isn't unlocked at this point. You need parts that can't be built yet and have to be found randomly beforehand.
3. In another quest, you have to build and provide weapons. This requires magnesium. As I've since learned, magnesium is present in the asteroid ring (Keen informed me), but nobody seems to know this. It's not displayed in the menu, so apparently there's no magnesium in this area. I only found out about it through a report from one of your employees. This raises the question: Besides the additional magnesium, is there also a concentration of higher-grade ores there that isn't being displayed? The quest requires building a complete production site, or using one from a previous quest to build the weapons, which is easily possible if you only have magnesium. However, the player has so far mistakenly assumed that magnesium is not found in the area.
4. After the last update (apparently March 31, 2026), the game occasionally crashed on startup or exit with the error message "System Stack Overflow" in the Windows error list. The solution is simply to try starting it again; this usually works, and then you can play without any problems. This error message also occasionally appears when exiting the game. In my experience so far, however, this has no effect on the game world.
5. Since the last update (apparently March 31, 2026), it is no longer possible to add blocks to vehicles that already exist. At least not to the hydrogen-powered vehicle that you receive at the start. Previously, this was possible; I could add an antenna and other additional blocks, but now this is no longer possible. This seems to only apply to vehicles; I was able to add blocks to my home base without any problems. This applies to Survival mode, not Creative mode. Newly built vehicles, i.e., those built after the update, are usable without any issues, at least so far.
6. There's been a rather nasty bug since the beginning, which I would describe as follows. If you build a new vehicle, for example, for mining ore, and make the mistake of doing so from a base (i.e., on blocks of a station), the vehicle initially becomes part of the base until you separate it. While the vehicle is then usable, mining ore is impossible without significant movement of the vehicle. To avoid this, you have to build the vehicle from a voxel; then this bug doesn't occur. Splitsie encountered the same bug in one of the early videos and circumvented it by creating a blueprint in creative mode and then attaching it to a voxel block line (so to speak). The bug then disappears. This bug is particularly annoying and should be fixed urgently.
I have the same bug

1. It is not a bug, it is how you learn game mechanics. That you cannot just put everything you find in your cargo containers. Imagine if someone were complaining about not being able to run or even walk, when overloaded in other games.
2. Also not a bug. You can savage gravity cores from somewhere else, for example from ship wrek on the Verdure. Or you can find Fabricator on another base and make them there. Although Keen should have added some hints about it.
3. Magnesium is literally found on the asteroid where this mission needs to be completed. But I agree, we need some hints in the game itself on where to find different ores.
4. Yes, I have this problem too, but it's pretty minor. Funny when on exiting game says: "Unloading" and then crashes.
5. I've reported this bug and Keen said it's on the list for next weeks hotfix.
6. I haven't seen this bug yet, but it seems that station / ship convertion is not yet fully implemented, and the grid probably remains a station after separation.

Hello Dietmar Krause Jun.,
For future threads please describe only one issue per thread as it gets complicated tracking several issues in one thread.
As for your points:
1 - This is not an issue since from the start you have access to Atmospheric Thrusters and Batteries so that modifying the Grasshopper to be able to carry its max capacity is possible.
2 - This issue is already fixed in current Game version: 2.2.0.2002. As I mentioned in one of the linked threads, you can salvage Gravity Cores from previous Contracts.
3 - Magnesium Ore is available as procedural spawn in the Viridian Halo since its release. Issue with the ore not being visible in the Map is tracked here: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers2/pc/topic/53147-magnesium-found-in-verdure-sector
4 - We are investigating this issue currently, could you please provide your Game logs from when the crash has occurred? You can find Game logs here:
They will look like this:
5 - This issue is already tracked in this thread: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers2/pc/topic/53251-cant-place-any-new-block-on-my-ships-in-survivol
6 - This issue is already tracked in this thread: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers2/pc/topic/46398-static-platform-vs-new-grid-blueprint-affecting-drill-physics
