Docking Whiplash / Solution Idea

So something I have noticed that is kind of funny actually is when selecting the auto dock with P. If you are like a couple inches away the ship will violently dock and slam to the connector. Honestly, every time this happens it feels like my ship is gonna crash and explode lol
I feel like the devs should program a way to slow the docking procedure so that it takes maybe a second or two longer so that it transitions smooth. As of right now this does not impact the ship in a negative way but from a first person story mode role play, it kind of breaks the immersion. Anyways Just wanted to point it out and see if you guys noticed this too.
