Mission Lock At Objective 6

For "Objective 6: Back to Orbit", it asks you to locate the control seat and access it to retrieve the coordinates. And I got overzealous and grinded it down before entering it. Now I can't place another one because it says the grid is not mine, and I can't complete the mission.
