Raining as I ascended into space, no clouds.
It carried on raining as I rose past any cloud level and carried on raining when planetary gravity reached 0.00g

I have this too. It rains whenever I move at any significant speed. Seems intentional as it is so common and I saw it in streams, too, but it's extremely annoying. Please remove it KSH! I always hate it when space games add stupid streaks going by you when you move slightly as if you're in warp or something, it's so off-putting. If you want warp effects, please give us warp drives instead of moving slightly below the speed of sound making it look like stars or space rain is going by right next to us. Why would anyone like this?

That's just cheap "sense of speed effect".
I agree it should be removed, or deeply reworked to become at least extremely subtle.

I personally really like the sense of speed effect. I would even say it is still a little too subtle for me - I think it should be improved as it looks a little bit too much of a work in progress rather than a finished effect. If some people don't like it then the best fix would be an on/off setting. But I suspect the feature is quite popular so I definitely think it needs to be an available feature - and have the artists work on making it look better.
