The new area welder is very useful, but I feel like it makes ship welders underwhelming / mostly obsolete, the range of ship welders should be significant enough to justify using them over the area welder. I think the range of the area welder should be reduced by 1 small block in each direction and ship welders increased by 2.
This would give both tools a use depending on circumstance. Another way to balance this could be to decrease the speed of the area welder so that it's noticeably slower than ship welders.
