Drills and stone

Under Consideration

I know currently there is no stone in SE2, but I'm not sure if it just hadn't been implemented yet, or not.

My suggestion would be tier 1 drill blocks and hand drills collect stone, and you can turn it into small amounts of resources just like in SE1. Tier 2 and above either don't collect stone, or collect less of it compared to the other resources you're mining. Maybe have an option to turn on stone collection in case you want it, but otherwise, that would be an advantage of upgrading the drills.

We need stone to make cement. We need cement to make concrete. We need concrete to make our ingot vaults.

In my view, ingots and concrete go hand-in-hand.

Thanks this is good feedback.

Stone/resource dilution vs progression is something we’re very aware of, especially in how early-game mining tools evolve into higher-tier systems. Your suggestion of tiered drill behavior (either filtering stone out or reducing its yield as tool tech improves) is a clean way to create a natural incentive to upgrade without removing player control entirely.

We’ve noted this and passed it on to the team for consideration as part of mining and resource progression design.
