A reasoning about deep-sea resource extraction.

The real story

Between Hawaii and Mexico, at a depth of 3-5 km, there are deposits of minerals that exceed all the reserves of minerals on land.

And these are not the only deposits in the depths of the ocean. There are two more equally large ones at least.

The possibility of mining was already known in the 60s, but the scientific community of more than 800 scientists from 44 countries made a statement.

In which it was said that the ocean has not been studied enough and the risks may be excessive.

"The deep-sea ocean makes up more than 90% of the biosphere and plays a key role in climate regulation.,

fishing and the natural cycle... ..Deep-sea mining will exacerbate these stressors,

leading to a loss of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.

This will have irreversible consequences in the life of several generations."

Since then, a law on the 12-mile coastal law has been created for States where they can apply their own laws.

But even if they explore the possibility of developing such deep-sea minerals, it is unlikely that approval will be given.

Nevertheless, objectively speaking, gravel, sand, oil, etc., are extracted one way or another.

Similarly, mining in the ocean at great depths with monstrous pressure has its own price, which is different from mining on land.

And these are the main reasons why such huge reserves are not being developed.

SE2

In the game, different planets have a different variety of resources. Verdure is the poorest, but it's also easier to survive.

Kemik, which already has more varieties of resources, although lifeless and without water.

But I don't know about the underwater fossils and their volumes in the game. Will there be large deep-sea deposits

or not (probably not) I also don't know. But it would be great if there were such big ones in the game.

deep-sea deposits where NPC factions could fight and wage an underwater war for their possession.

But this is my humble opinion.
