"Docking Mode" (Keeping grid under 20mps)

Wondering if other players have this problem - with the tutorial Hydro ship it is sometimes hard to line up the connectors without flying past (due to the large forward thrust).
It could be interesting to have a configurable toggle for cockpits that when activated, the grid cannot go over 20MPS. The worst feeling is when you're going in to dock and u accidentally slam full speed into your base! Not speaking from experience of course ;)
This same option toggle mechanic could also be used for a boost mode! Allowing a grid to exceed it's speed limit at the cost of major fuel consumption.
Configurable toggles vs. a hotkey allows Console players to do this using the ship's config bar.
