Arrange missions/contracts into a full Tech Tree
Because Tech Trees are fun!
Every node in the tech tree would list the missions that unlock said node.
There should be multiple ways to unlock a given node, so players can specialize.
Unlocking a node gives tech (unlock blocks or features), materials, or some kind of points.
Once a node is unlocked, further nodes become available to unlock (dependencies).
You should always see the whole tech tree, so players can plan ahead.
If you dont show the whole tech tree, people will look it up online anyways.
So add it into the base game for conveniences sake.
It should be made moddable so new nodes are easy to introduce by mods. Just configure dependencies, missions, and rewards, and the game will make space for it in the tree.
If a single tree is too unwieldy, introduce tabs (multiple trees). Lets say Production, Flight, Defense, Structure, Player. Something like that.
If the future plan is for missions to go through NPCs, the tech tree should guide or give hints to find the appropriate NPC for a given tech. (Again, if you dont, players will have to look it up online instead which is annoying)
