GPS additional options
When in another sector, we currently get a [block] of all GPS locations. If you mark in another sector it all gets clustered together in a list.
We could get a toggle to turn "other sector off" or only show "within "current" sector?

Maybe a checklist on left-side to turn each on/off in the GPS list as well and grouped within "our own". Each could use folders (nameable and drag-moveable for sorting) to enable mission(s) groups, you can toggle them on an off. These could be used within a faction, you a certain rank/permission level, then you see more than say a new member and so on. Organise/modify as you like.
Later on you could have an expansion for multiplay. Antennas that are programmable, you create a GPS receiver with permissions, friend, faction, etc. and can be changed as a colour to represent different categories for example. A symbol, special characters could be used to note special locations.
Example, find an Ore, Mark it with it's own symbol and share this location with your faction.
The already mentioned "GPS lists projected as a map on holographic table" suggestion could be used to plug in mapped segments let's say Planet, Asteroid, Space location as a style of SD card you store in your character suit which holds a limited amount of locations. Then you can upload the data and store on a ship DataBank or in a Base/Station you've made. This requires constant power or loss of data will occur.
Wayfinder module added to a ship, would indicate in the cockpit direction, degrees/angle to target, other options could be Altitude and all manner of programmable display data. Need to land a large ship into a dock, no drama, these points can guide you in like lights on a runway.
Permissions could be given for a number of friends or your faction to make copies of the data segments. So when you go from a sector to another, you change out the data module for guidance, or can also use for missions and customer contracts as breadcrumbs you can find anywhere you want, Just like a treasure map.
With the HoloTable suggestion, if you plug in the data, it shows on the table, you can create a mission log/plan which shows you distances between GPS POSitions. You find a treasure map and follow all the GPS satellites to find the general area. In multiplay, you can sabotage to location beacons by destroying them to thwart the "enemy" but still enable doable completion with searching....on the table you can plan out the design just as you would on a blueprint, then be guided out to build it all.
When you place/build a satellite, you can see a grid with alignment vectors (XYZ) that indicate direction and guidance for (size) distance. A small one could show only 10km, a large more, and so on. This would allow for distance and planning direction at same time.
When a Drone Satellite (smaller version) is made, you can use them to display a Grid Matrix to aid in measuring distances, angles, and such in the planning of stations or other constructions. You would be able to change the base style of the Matrix being shown, Cube, Sphere, and so on. Modders would be able to make plugins that can be used for the Base Shape so if you need a stellated dodecahedron no problem....Plug-n'Play BABY.
The matrix grid could also be used to plug in blueprints, then move it around with more precision. I had a series of save that disappeared, but made a blueprint before loading a older save. With placing this blueprint inside an asteroid proved to be quite the challenge to get it placed where it used to be. If you have blueprint parts/pieces broken down from a larger design, you can add this module blueprint and move it around and click in place alongside the other(s) within the matrix.
