Being able to build blocks with just ores/metals: Maybe not the best?

Tried the new survival update today, and had a blast. However, one thing that just kept coming at me was the fact you could take raw (or refined, you decide) metals and immediately use them to make blocks. That means that you never really need to have a stockpile of earlier game/base components. I know hypothetically the backpack is “assembling” those components as you build something, but I feel like it kind of removes a measure of realism, and a big part of beeing ready for any big projects. Adding a simple crafting interface to make it so you had to manually craft things like steel plates (take… Astroneer’s early crafting system in the backpack for an example) bwould make the grinding for resources feel more… fulfilling. It’s hard to put into words exactly. I know this kind of brushes up upon another topic, one of including or not including ingots. However, I feel this could still be added even if ingots aren’t added. (Which, to be honest, wouldn’t be that hard as we already have some, and would make it so you can stockpile ingots instead of just ore) Anyway that was tangent

I think just to conclude, I hope you guys take this into consideration at least, maybe you could add a “auto craft” setting so that way the player can choose if the backpack auto crafts for them or not
