Hydrogen thruster sound keeps playing with dampeners turned off and on lock

Hello. Sound thing with hydrogen thrusters. How to reproduce:

Use any ship with hydrogen thrusters, turn off dampeners and make small movement. Thruster sound still playing even if you are not using thrusters at the moment.

Also this problem occured if your ship is locked with landing gear or connector.

It seems that any grid movement causes that, even smallest. I can make a video of that.

This happens to me pretty much anytime I land or dock, even on voxel. The thrusters sound like they're firing nonstop which is super fatiguing to listen to nonstop. Happens with both landing gear and connectors.

I second (third?) this. It seems its maybe a large thruster thing, as if i go forwards in the pre-fabbed hydro ship with dampners off and hear the persistent noise, if i press left or right it goes away. It is extremely annoying though. Also heard while docked as op says.

I am playing a few of the longer distance missions, so I am using the typical space flight technique of turning off dampeners, thrusting up to a specific speed - in this case max of 1080 since I am going around the planet Verdure - and then stopping the hydrogen thrusters to coast for a distance before turning on dampeners to use thrust to reduce speed. The amount and volume of the ship's thrusters seems to be linked to the speed of the ship and not whether or how long the thrusters have been on.

I'm using this maneuver to conserve hydrogen fuel and avoid the costly maneuver of flying through the atmosphere.

What I'm expecting is the thrusters to be firing and increasing to a max while I'm increasing speed, then turn off and reduce volume to idle while I'm coasting, then be firing and increasing to a max while I'm reducing speed after turning the dampeners back on.

Further notes on this noise. I have flown to the excavation mission and just landed. I tend to turn my ship off to conserve fuel, since the hydrogen thrusters seem to always be consuming fuel even when idle. (I miss the configurable ships controls so I could just turn off the thrusters and not the whole ship at the press of a key.)

While flying to the outpost, once I was in the atmosphere I used dampeners to slow my speed to a stop. I didn't hear the thrusters firing while hovering. I was up about 8 km from the site, so rather than consume fuel by using the C key, I turned off dampeners and just simply dropped for about 2 km.

While dropping, the ship speed increased, but the ship/thruster noise did NOT increase while falling. When I turned back on dampeners, the thrusters fired and I heard the whine down volume of thrusters firing as the speed was reduced.

I repeated this a few more times to confirm this behavior.

This feels more correct to me for the most part, other than the thrusters missing the constant low hum of thrust while hovering.

Same here, turning off damps does not seem to stop it either so it's not the superdampeners.

Only thing that stops it that i have found while landed is pressing Y to shut the whole ship down. :(

Yes, I face this issue all the time as well! The engines produce a noise that sounds exactly like full thrust mode is engaged, even though they’re completely inactive. It’s quite perplexing and rather annoying to deal with.

Have the same, soooo annoying.

By the same token, ships that have been powered down make a powering-down sound when you come back into range.
