Good morning! During the FTUE when mining the ice for the hydrogen ship, i mined the ice above a hole i had already dug and then fell through the world, luckily i was able to dig back into the hole. i dont have a clip to show you but thought i'd submit a ticket to help keep things running smooth. Thank you so much for the work you do, have a good day
You can find the video showing what is happening here: https://youtu.be/w0yhNgOr6Gk

Fell through floor while mining for Ice in the Ice Cave
I followed the marker to go to the Ice Cave to mine Ice for the first Hydrogen ship. While mining I managed to fall through the floor in to the planet. I turned on my thruster to stop falling.
when mining sometimes you end up clipping through the ground
just push your self forward as you mine
How to fall out of world.
Clip on how to reproduce falling though the world.
The same bug will happen if you enter a cockpit from above and land upside down at the correct angle.
Survival mode hole in map ice mine
Just went through the map while mining Ice in the first missions of survival mode
hole in world SE2
mining/walking around, and fell through the planet. Trying to get ice for the tutorial mission before heading to the station.
Fell through a hole which I drilled on the planet
I was drilling for ice, noticed that I can walk lower in the ground, seen through the ground and when I moved more I fell under the ground
luckily I can jetpack and drill out to get free
Clipped through voxel when mining
Just mining with the MK1 drill thrusting into the wall to get Iron and I just clipped through the asteroid.
I dug myself out using the drill.
way to get under map
well my ship found itself upside down and i was trying to dig under it so i could tilt the shipand when i exited the ship to dig more I found myself under the world where if i turned off my jetpack i would fall into nothing above me i couldn't see the ground but i could see the grass and if i locked left and right i could clearly see the ore deposits.
Mining straight down sometimes causes player to fall through the map
exactly as the title says ive noticed that sometimes when mining straight down i fall straight through the map and then im stuck underneath everything until i can create a hole to get back up,
so far ive only seen this happen while using the terrain clearing mode with the hand drill not with the ore collecting mode (right click not left click)
will provide video next time this happens to me
repro:
- pick a spot
- look straight down in first person
- hold right mouse button
- do not stop holding the button until the player falls through the map
Exiting from cockpit placed character inside the planet
Steps which caused the bug:
1. I was flying modified Grasshopper with single drill in front.
2. Mining tunnel with right mouse click from starter Ice Cave straight from landing pad towards ice marker. Tunnel was very tight just to fit ship and nothing else.
3. Exit cockpit.
Actual result:
Character was placed inside the voxel (planet) and can fly around inside terrain but can not cross border of voxels to return to world or interact with ship.
Expected result:
Character will be placed in free space.
I have the same bug
I managed to dig back to the cave from above and get inside. I tried to re-create the bug but after a few tries it didn't happen again

same issue, digging back through from under the world allows clipping back in the right way

Same, managed to be able to enter and exit the void spot. but if you loose it you need to dig yourself back to surface.

it was when I was digging to an ore deposit, but same issue.

I glitched into the ground while drilling a tunnel. Tunnel was in front of me until suddenly I fell straight down into the rock

I had the same at the mining camp at objective 5 at what seems to be the same spot

Same thing happened to me. This is the post I was working on, but I'll just append it under here to hopefully give more information about the bug.
I was mining during the "get ice" portion of the tutorial in the Ice Cave. I fell through the voxels while mining.
My Notes: I was mining while looking down. as the voxels were mined and disappeared, I would drop down (normal behavior), When I fell through, I mined, voxels disappeared, I bounced, and suddenly found myself falling.
I was able to use my jetpack within the voxels and used the Destruct mode on the drill on the inside of the voxels to make the voxels "retreat" which "swallowed" me back above the voxels.
My Hunch: (fwiw). I wonder if I hit a voxel while mining that moved enough to "open" a cavity that engulfed more than half of my engineer.
Bears looking into. Apologies, as I'm not a good enough game programmer to give more pointed possible fixes. Thanks

Has now happened to me twice more in other locations. Once was while I was using mag boots on an asteroid, which was particularly odd.

I've also got this bug while was mining snow on the planet. I've fall through voxels like 5 times, but managed to get back with right mouse mining every time. And it is not temporary I've fall multiple times in the same spot without changing voxels.

Same, I've fallen through like 3 x each time it was mining different resources at different location. Most recently I traveled back to the planet and am trying my hand at building my own base. Was mining a chunk of Iron out of the side of a cliff and fell through. I was able to jet pack to the edge and use my miner to dig my way to the surface.

Yep the Ice cave is a secret portal to the centre of the planet. I fell through 3 times before turning on the jetpack so as not to stand on the ice.

also while mining resources have fallen through the voxels on a campaign mission , with quick thinking enabled jetpack to save on fall damage and managed to drill an imaginary hole back outside , also clip through voxels on walking sometimes up to my head ship also clips through the same areas

Digging while using the jetpack to push against the surface gets you out from under it. also it seems that issue creates sometimes holes you can fall thru when walking regularly in the area (not always exact spot).

this might also happen when collecting ore but i cant remember off the top of my head, will update once tested further

Not exactly the same, but went down in clearing mode, got maybe 3-4m to side of ore, cleared a bit towards and mined some only to discover that voxels was covering the tunnel up to the ground near me.

If you jetpack up and dig you can get back to the right side.

I had this happen
I wasn't sure what to do because the void of the planet still has gravity but I turned on my Jet-pack after a few kilometers and flew out a dormant volcano. What was strange is that my drill said their was an element a few meters from where a was drilling down when I fell.

I found the tunnel by clipping head so I could kind of see where tunnel was and then drilled through to it.

When drilling on a planet as well i fell through the map. had to drill and rotate to where my head was going into the drill to squeeze back through the map

I experienced this when returning from space, upon exiting my ship I was placed under the voxel. I used the drill, at what looked to be the edge of the voxel and I was able to pop back out to the correct side.
