I managed to dig back to the cave from above and get inside. I tried to re-create the bug but after a few tries it didn't happen again

photo
2

same issue, digging back through from under the world allows clipping back in the right way

photo
2

Same, managed to be able to enter and exit the void spot. but if you loose it you need to dig yourself back to surface.

photo
2

it was when I was digging to an ore deposit, but same issue.

i fell in the ice cave

photo
2

I glitched into the ground while drilling a tunnel. Tunnel was in front of me until suddenly I fell straight down into the rock

photo
2

Same happened to me. I was able to fly back up and eventually glitched back above the surface.

Incase my post isn't seen.

Clip on how to reproduce falling though the world.

The same bug will happen if you enter a cockpit from above and land upside down at the correct angle.

That could make a pretty cool banishing prison for captured enemies! :D

I had the same at the mining camp at objective 5 at what seems to be the same spot

Same thing happened to me. This is the post I was working on, but I'll just append it under here to hopefully give more information about the bug.

I was mining during the "get ice" portion of the tutorial in the Ice Cave. I fell through the voxels while mining.

My Notes: I was mining while looking down. as the voxels were mined and disappeared, I would drop down (normal behavior), When I fell through, I mined, voxels disappeared, I bounced, and suddenly found myself falling.

I was able to use my jetpack within the voxels and used the Destruct mode on the drill on the inside of the voxels to make the voxels "retreat" which "swallowed" me back above the voxels.

My Hunch: (fwiw). I wonder if I hit a voxel while mining that moved enough to "open" a cavity that engulfed more than half of my engineer.

Bears looking into. Apologies, as I'm not a good enough game programmer to give more pointed possible fixes. Thanks

Has now happened to me twice more in other locations. Once was while I was using mag boots on an asteroid, which was particularly odd.

photo

I've also got this bug while was mining snow on the planet. I've fall through voxels like 5 times, but managed to get back with right mouse mining every time. And it is not temporary I've fall multiple times in the same spot without changing voxels.

photo
1

Same, I've fallen through like 3 x each time it was mining different resources at different location. Most recently I traveled back to the planet and am trying my hand at building my own base. Was mining a chunk of Iron out of the side of a cliff and fell through. I was able to jet pack to the edge and use my miner to dig my way to the surface.

photo
1

Yep the Ice cave is a secret portal to the centre of the planet. I fell through 3 times before turning on the jetpack so as not to stand on the ice.

photo
2

also while mining resources have fallen through the voxels on a campaign mission , with quick thinking enabled jetpack to save on fall damage and managed to drill an imaginary hole back outside , also clip through voxels on walking sometimes up to my head ship also clips through the same areas

Same happened to me. Confirmed. Voted.

Hello Engineers,

We have reported this issue and attached this thread to our internal ticket (SE2-29262).

Digging while using the jetpack to push against the surface gets you out from under it. also it seems that issue creates sometimes holes you can fall thru when walking regularly in the area (not always exact spot).

photo

this happens often

photo
1

I fell and kept falling.

Have the same issue inside an asteroid

photo
1

this might also happen when collecting ore but i cant remember off the top of my head, will update once tested further

photo
1

Not exactly the same, but went down in clearing mode, got maybe 3-4m to side of ore, cleared a bit towards and mined some only to discover that voxels was covering the tunnel up to the ground near me.

photo
2

If you jetpack up and dig you can get back to the right side.

photo
1

I had this happen

I wasn't sure what to do because the void of the planet still has gravity but I turned on my Jet-pack after a few kilometers and flew out a dormant volcano. What was strange is that my drill said their was an element a few meters from where a was drilling down when I fell.

photo
1

I found the tunnel by clipping head so I could kind of see where tunnel was and then drilled through to it.

photo
1

When drilling on a planet as well i fell through the map. had to drill and rotate to where my head was going into the drill to squeeze back through the map

photo
3

I experienced this when returning from space, upon exiting my ship I was placed under the voxel. I used the drill, at what looked to be the edge of the voxel and I was able to pop back out to the correct side.

Oh, I found this bug reported alreadz, But I can not delete this thread..

Para la atención del equipo de soporte de SE2.

Debe ser que no es un bug importante o ha sido algo puntual ya que de momento no me ha vuelto a pasar. Os mantendré informado por si vuelve a pasar.

Un saludo

For the attention of the SE2 support team.

It must not be a major bug or it was just a one-off, as it hasn't happened again. I'll keep you updated if it does.

Thank you for the clarification, and I apologize for the mistake, as this is my first comment and I had no idea how it worked.

Attached the save file (hopefully) of me right after i fell through the map. saved in the process of still falling. hope this helps with figuring out the bug.

photo

Nice to see they included this feature in SE2.

photo

This happens every time you excavate on a planet, for example, when you dig a hole, but when you climb back into the hole, you can't get back in because the world thinks there was nothing there, but you, for example, set up excavations there.

photo
1

This happened to me in the ice mine from the campaign. I was drilling way pushed up against the ice and when the voxel chunk got mined it somehow pushed me to the other side (outside of the map)

photo
1

I thought that this should never come out in vrage3! this is a old problem in SE1 (at least on multiplayer)

photo
1

Had the same thing happen to me. although i was building a base and i jumped into a catwalk corner thing. It shoved me through the ground and i managed to repeat it but trying to recreate it in creative wasn't working.

P.S. I had two videos but it wont let me upload them both

photo
1

it happens to me all the time when mining in planet gravity

photo
1

There's a hole in the world on classic survival a little ways away from the pod that I've fallen through a number of times.

photo
1

I don't have files / screenshot to share but three times I've fell through the landscape while using the hand drill. First time I fell all the way to what looked like the center of Verdure. Second and third times fell through to the inside of an ice hill on the surface but was able to drill My way back out. I'm assuming this issue is on Keen's radar and will be addressed by the time of full release. Super excited to see SE2 completed, love it so far!

photo
2

I fell, too. I was able to exit by drilling back through the underside of the surface. Only problem was is that I fell through the same hole again. I was actually able to pass through the hole in both directions.

photo
1

Was mining ice on the top of the nearest (that I saw) mountain to The Barn, turned to get out of the hole I made and was falling... Attached my save game mid-fall.

photo
1

I've only fallen through the planet once, however I found a related issue when I was using the mining shuttle and every time it got stuck I would press F to get out and manually dig around it, but every second or third time it would instead push me outside the asteroid.

I'm not exactly sure why the game does it, but if I were to hazard a guess, it's trying to reconcile where the player should be when something is in the way and it just pushes the player in a seemingly random direction where there is "space", when it should be "popping up against gravity" to avoid being pushed into the abyss.

Hand drilling to an ore body is fine (for me). Tracking back up the tunnel usually shows a ring of daylight. I think that it goes aaway if I enlarge the tunnel a bit. It is disconcerting though.

I am happy to see they are keeping all the main features of SE1.

Hello Engineers,

Issue where Character was falling through the voxels is now fixed on the latest Hotfix - 2.3.0.2798. Please note that small gaps in Voxels can still be present - we are investigating this separately.

As such, I will close this thread.

Happy Engineering!

photo

is this only effective when opening new fresh worlds? or persistant through older saves aswell?

photo

Hello Marcus Parriott,

The fix should affect both new and older Worlds. If you're still experiencing this issue on an older world, please create a new thread.

Hello Engineers,

We want to confirm that the issue was fixed for everyone - Can you please confirm that Character, Grids and object no longer fall through voxels during your playthroughs?

Still falls through, it was on Palatine. Pieces of the ship I ground down also "fell into" the landscape, but seemed to float there like they were floating/bouncing/flipping on water. I haven't had the falling through the landscape problem on Verdue since the last hotfix.

I have recently only fallen through once, maybe yesterday or day before. Drilling near rebel gunship base, on the flat land nearby, in direction of the hostile camp, not far from the base on the mountain top near, for silicon I think. Sorry didnt save game, quickly hit jet pack and flew out this time, last time I was 30k down :(

photo

I have not fallen through the map since. However, I do occasionally see through the voxels for a split second.

This happened on a hand drilling path, while going backtracking and drilling upwards (to open a tunnel wider for example).
