Option for GPS marker clutter reduction when inside a grid

When walking around inside a grid it is not usually necessary to have long range GPS markers visible.
Could there be an option to reduce GPS marker spam when inside a grid space and NOT seated in either a control seat or cockpit?
It may still be useful to be able to observe localised approaching enemy markers.
