[Late Feature] Degrading Blocks via Skins in SE2
Hello,
I'm writing to suggest a feature for Space Engineers 2 (SE2): block degradation based on time and environment.
The color picker already supports skins, so this would be a natural extension. This could manifest in several ways:
- Time-Based Degradation: Blocks gradually rust over extended periods.
- Environmental Degradation:Blocks accumulate sand in sandy biomes or during sandstorms, and become muddy from prolonged exposure to underground environments.
Furthermore, I envision a unique "alien infestation" skin. Prolonged exposure to alien environments could cause this skin to spread across blocks, reaching 100% integrity and potentially triggering negative effects.
Space Engineers 2 would improved by that feature, because it gives "automatically" environmental story telling and deeper mechanics. I guess this is something we can agree is not important in early stages of the game.
