Designated preferred routes for NPC characters when in grid space

In a previous post I have suggested the use of empty blocks to clear voxels in grid space.

Another use or variant of this idea may be useful for defining preferred travel paths within a grid when navigating from one part of the grid to another. This would define usual through fair routes to avoid NPCs cluttering up spaces through the use of short cuts.

This would not prevent NPC from traversing spaces, but would prioritise access path ways, a bit like following colour coded lines on walls/flooring found on some large campuses
