Space Engineers has always been a game where the community can create in-game 'machinima' movies using spectator mode, in-game characters and ships, and more recently, assisted through the replay tool in SE1. When the community uploads these movies to the internet, it also functions to promote the game!

In SE1 a lot of the machinimas utilised the character's helmet visor being down to hide the fact that the character's lips don't move when they talk. Additionally, the only way to remove the helmet entirely was through mods. This meant a slight break in immersion if a story took place in an environment where a full spacesuit isn't necessary.

However, in SE2, the visor is now transparent and you can see your character's face at all times (a visor transparency slider for character customisation would probably make a lot of the dark, brooding and mysterious types happy though)

I propose two features to help machinima makers in SE2:

1. The ability to move the character's lips - pressing a key opens their mouth, and un-pressing closes the mouth, similarly to what '60s puppet shows like Thunderbirds did.

2. The ability to remove the helmet entirely. Even though it's a space game, I think you should still be able to take off your helmet, as a key theme of SE2 is also colonisation, which means habitable environments one doesn't need a suit.

Not sure if you guys are planning a face customisation feature but suggestion 2 would also really help that.
