Drill Shake is violent on very small ships

I created a super minimal mining ship with ion thrust in all directions, a small gyroscope, a drill, a cockpit, and a cargo container. When I tried to mine stone, the ship shakes violently up and down. Is this intended?

I experienced the same with a slightly bigger miner: 2 drills, 4 Gyroscopes, Cockpit, 2 cargo containers. I guess we praise Clang.
