Game lobby space world for selecting servers - and meet up space

To join a game in SE1 there is a menu page with a list of the active servers.

Could SE2 have a 3d game lobby space world with kiosks representing each of the servers that players can enter.

The kiosks could have details on their gameplay displayed on an LCD and a doorway to transport the player to the server world.

The lobby could act as a meeting and hangout place with seating.

It could also exhibit a small size grid build and have information on display boards for events as well as adverts and displays for forth coming DLCs.

The normal list view of servers could be accessed on a terminal near the lobby entrances.

The lobby itself could be a themed as a central colony flight terminal and waiting lounge.

Being a means to select a server, this should not effect normal game selection for offline single player gaming.

Respects to ARCHitech for previous lobby idea/post -

Would this need multiple lobby instances to cope with player numbers or not?

The departure lounge system at the airport could be quite interesting. At least for the first entry into the chosen game world/server.

...

"Engineers wishing to be included in PvP action in the Lavela 17 star system are asked to report to the battlegroup commanders. Departure in 15 minutes. Please remember to wear your group's prescribed uniform and equipment." ... And a crowd broke out in the "changing room"...

...

"Engineers wishing to be included in the Kenan 2 PvE expedition are requested to assemble for departure at Gate 16A. The next departure is scheduled for July 24, 2026 1800 UTC"

...

Of course, such a system would only be for the first entry into a particular game world. For subsequent entries, the player would normally join a game already in progress by logging into a specific game server and game world.

For PvP events, this would work for each individual event.

And it would be useful to be able to search for scheduled events in advance.

Seen it before, was cool the first few times but eventually became a nuisance because it felt like I had to load and play another game before I got to load and play the game I wanted. This would probably be best as an optional feature, like one button in the main menu takes you strait to the server-list, while the other loads in the server-nexus for you to wander around in.

Is your issue with this a question of loading times vs the potential immersion?

Bit of both, its extra loading and navigation that doesn't need to happen when I just want to hop on quickly to make sure that my assemblers haven't clogged overnight, and its "you must pass though this train-station/airport terminal/what-have-you to get isekai'd in to the sci-fi world you want".

It would be a cool feature to just have a lounge to hang out, show stuff off, and see what others have to show off in, but requiring the extra-steps and out of place world when I'm trying to just get on for a bit to play with friends eventually gets annoying. It would be best as its own separate menu-option.
