Hello to the development team,

I’d like to suggest an idea to help enrich the gameplay experience in Space Engineers 2: the integration of a fully developed trading system with NPCs, going far beyond what was available in Space Engineers 1.

In SE1, trading interactions were quite limited and lacked depth. However, introducing a proper economy with NPC-managed trade routes, specialized stations, dynamic markets, and commerce-related missions could bring a whole new layer to the game. It would allow players to take on more diverse roles, such as traders, smugglers, haulers, or bounty hunters operating within a living economy.

Some potential features could include:

• NPC factions with their own needs, offers, and reputation systems

• Dynamic markets based on supply and demand

• Evolving trade contracts and missions

• Economic events like blockades, shortages, or rare opportunities

• Trade progression unlocking perks, gear, or exclusive access

This wouldn’t take away from the sandbox freedom that defines Space Engineers - instead, it would add meaningful goals and greater immersion for players who want more structure and purpose in their gameplay.
